Don Cook, for many years, has provided personalized snow removal service to the Mt Ralston community. Beginning with this coming winter, 2008-2009, Ed Cook is taking over for Don and incorporating this service area into his already established snow removal business. Don will continue to provide snow removal service in Strawberry.
Ed Cook has tasked Bryan Reading, a local resident, with the job of clearing snow and managing the snow removal service in our area. Bryan is the guy to call about having your driveway cleared. You can contact Bryan at (530) 307-1583. ![]() Don ran a huge skip loader that either pushed or scooped up the snow. Bryan will be running a Bobcat tractor with a heavy duty snowblower attachment. ![]() ![]() The snowblower will allow Bryan to clear driveways that could not previously be cleared. The snowblower throws the snow out of the way instead of pushing it forward. Finally, the snow removal service contract for this season will be based upon (and may depend on special circumstances) $35 per removal. In the Tahoe basin, the service is triggered when there is 4 inches of accumulation. In the Mt Ralston subdivision, the service will go into effect when there is 6 inches of accumulation. For those who do not have a service contract, such as people who just want their driveway cleared on a one-time basis, the price may be between $100 and $150 for the clearing. Bryan will appreciate having advance notice of when this clearing is needed so that it can be worked into the schedule. Bryan will be working very hard to pick up where Don has left off. I hope we can all help him be successful in this endeavor. |

I tried to call the phone number and it is unreachable. Is there an alternative?

I also called this phone number and got the prerecorded message "The number you are trying to call is not reachable. PPS 6180." When I dial this number a week ago, I was able to leave a message.
The message could mean that the phone is a pre-paid cell phone and it has run out of minutes. Or maybe it could mean there is a problem with the cell phone service in the area. Not sure. I called Ed Cook and left a message asking for information on this phone number. When I get some information, I'll update this post. Dennis |

The phone number problem has been corrected. Bryan is actively engaged in contacting people who might be interested in snow removal service.
It's helpful to contact Bryan early so that he can see the property and set snowstakes, marking the area for snow removal. This helps him work efficiently and avoid property damage. Once snow covers the ground, obstacles become hidden. The offer for snow removal service has been mailed out to many people (not sure what was used as the mailing list). Bryan, has many new customers along Highway 50. He will be driving his equipment to and from the Mt Ralston subdivision, clearing other properties along the way. Bryan is getting ready for this winter. Call him if you are interested. |

Snow removal service is now operational. I must say, using the Bobcat for snow removal is highly effective! And Bryan has a heated cab to work in!
